longed for was friend. She thought that since she did not have any friends, she was ugly. She says, "I may not have been the prettiest girl in the school, but I should have realized that I was not ugly".She had very low self-esteem, which caused her to believe the lies she often told herself. She then began to think to herself, "Since I am so unpopular, then that most be why I am being teased. " She was teased both at home and at school. However, her family never knew just how much their playful teasing hurt her.

Christina never told her mom that she had been having these suicidal thoughts. Then one day, while cleaning up, her mom found her journal and read it. After reading her journal, her mom confronted her about it, yet she refused to believe it. Christina could tell her Mom anything about her life and she would believe her, yet when she did not believe her about her suicidal thoughts it hurt Christina tremendously. As the days went by, her self-esteem began to grow worse and worse pushing even closer to the edge. During her sophomore year in high school, her suicidal thoughts turned into attempts. Her first attempt failed when she wrapping a purse strap around her neck and tied it to the hanger on a bath room door at school. Finally in September, after her first attempt failed, she got up enough nerve to tell a girl in her class. The girl went to a teacher with it, who then called Christina's parents and they believed her then.

After that, she attempted suicide a second and a third time. She put a knife to her throat, and tried hanging herself again. Then as a last cry out for help, she told the same girl once again and she told a girl named Katie. Who is now Christina's best friend. Through God using Katie, Christina's situations started to improve greatly. That summer she went to Church Camp and rededicated her life to the Lord.  She says, " I know now that I am not ugly, and have a purpose in life-serving the Lord with everything I have. I know this because I have a husband who is the sweetest man and he tells me that I am gorgeous" She says to anyone out there who is hurting or has attempted or thought about suicide, "Know that no matter what, God loves you and that is all you will ever need to know-His love.
